Our Top 5 winner for volunteerism run! Congrats!

On 10 April 2011, Education group organized Volunteerism Run & Carnival at Kampung Baru Tronoh Mines. This run organized to create awareness by the other charity societies and welfare associations and the main objectives is to build up a mini library that is sponsored by Deputy Home Minister Dato' Lee Chee Leong. There were about 1000 participants and volunteers who was from UTAR, KTAR, Kampar and Tronoh Mines itself. Participants have to run for 5km from SRJK Ayer Hitam to Kampung Baru Tronoh Mines. Most of the participants were from UTAR. Hampers will be given to those runners who manage to get to top five. The run started at 7am and Ketua Kampung Baru Tronoh Mines officially started the run by firing the race gun. The first participant reached Kampung Baru Tronoh Mines at around 9.30am and he was the winner of the run.

There was a carnival after the run. The carnival which include games and societies booth. Besides, there were also stalls which sell foods, drinks, clothes and accessories for girls. RELA and policeman were there to control and take care of the environment. PBSM was there to give medication to those participants who needed. These teams were so helpful to us and this makes our carnival flow smoothly.

Dean of Faculty in Arts and Social Science, Dr. Sebastian a/l K.Francis, Head of Public Relation Department, Ms Gan Pei Lee and Chief Village of Kampung Bru Tronoh Mines were the VIP on that day.Malaysian actress, Lim Ching Miau and musician Julio were invited to the carnival and they both performed very well. The audience enjoyed the show and the carnival end at 1pm.

D.I.Y Mini Blackboard Creation Workshop on 26/March/2011

On 26 March 2011, our education group was invited 30 volunteers from UTAR to join our D.I.Y Mini Blackboard Creation Workshop.

The purpose of organised this workshop is let UTARians join us, volunteer themselves do a mini blackboard frame and make it as a gift to Tronoh Mines children. All the mini blackboard will delivery to Tronoh Mines on Apr 10, 2011. From doing the blackboard, UTARians also become one of the volunteer, thsy will giving around one hour to finish their board and all material are provided by us.

Education Tour at UTAR- SMK Kampar, SMJK Pei Yuan, SMK Methodist

Education Tour~

On 26, March 2011, we invited three secondary school from SMK Kampar, SMJK Pei Yuan and SMK Methodist to visit UTAR. From the education tour to UTAR, they will learn and know what is university and the how is it university life.At the same time, they will educated about concept of volunteerism through a talk giving by Caren Kee.

After the talk, they will having a ice breaking game session. Each one them will separate into three different group and they need to learn how to corporate with the people that they don't know and work hard together to win the game session.
